Good Morning Henniker Program
Effective Monday, January 15, 2001, the police department began a new service entitled the "Good Morning Henniker Program."

This service is designed to check the safety and welfare of elderly or handicapped individuals within our community who live alone or have special needs. When a person decides to enroll in this program, the person will sign a contract agreeing to phone the police department each day, MONDAY through FRIDAY, between the hours of 9:00am and 11:00AM. The person will just need to identify him or herself and state that they are checking in as part of the Good Morning Henniker Program.

If the police department has not heard from a person enrolled in this program by 11:00AM, contact will be attempted by telephone. If there is no answer, a police officer will be dispatched to the residence to check the safety and welfare of the person. Persons enrolled in the program will be required to supply the police department with a key to their residence. The key will be maintained in a secure location at the police department. Giving a key to the residence is preferred, however we will make alternate arrangements if this is a concern.

An application form will need to be filled out at the police department if you are interested in participating in the Good Morning Henniker Program. We have had several instances where a check of a person enrolled in the program, that failed to call in, was found to have had a medical emergency or had fallen and we have gotten them the assistance that they needed.

If you have any questions or would like to enroll in the Good Morning Henniker Program, please call us at the Henniker Police Department at 428-3213.
